I think LLMs are slowly eating my brain from the inside
Ever since the advent of AI in Coding, bzw. LLMs, How I write code as a hobbyist changed tremendously. What used to take hours of research and weeks of debugging can be done nowadays in a matter of hours. For an outsider, it may seem like the overall producitivity has increased, but at what cost?
Hours of debugging might cost companies their valuable man-hour, but for someone who used to genuinely enjoy the process, it all feels dull. My own projects feel alien to me, the process feels very "automated", and in the worst way possible.
Is my brain becoming less wrinkly? I'm not sure. Probably, yeah.
I think it's time for me to embark on the journey of coding without the assistance of AI. It sounds like an herculean task to me, and that's exactly why I want to do it. Not to prove anyone but myself, that I still possess the problem-solving ability, which was once very dear to me.
I might update my dear readers about it (which is basically no one), or I might completely forget about the whole rant and continue using LLMs. Again, I'm not sure.
UPDATE: I'll be doing some raytracing following Ray Tracing in One Weekend, and everything will be implemented in Rust.
